Sintra: Day Trip from Lisbon – The Ultimate Guide

    October 14, 2023 /

Sintra – the must-see day trip from Lisbon. You’ve probably seen it on every Lisbon blog post you’ve read – and for good reason. It is a stunning, fairytale-like town, with a much higher-than-average castle to person ratio. It can be difficult to navigate, so if you don’t know where to start, follow my guide to plan a perfect day trip from Lisbon to Sintra. How to get there The best way to travel from Lisbon to Sintra is by train. Trains go from Lisbon Oriente and Rossio stations every 30 minutes. Tickets can be bought at the ticket machines at the station and a single ticket costs 2,30€ (plus…

19 Best Things to do in Budapest

    September 3, 2023 /

Budapest is one of my favourite cities to visit – it‘s incredibly rich in culture, stunning architecture, and delicious food. There is so much to do, see, and eat that it would be impossible for me to list them all. So, I‘ve narrowed it down to my favourite 19 things to do in Budapest. 1. Visit the Parliament Building The Hungarian Parliament Building is one of the most stunning buildings I have seen. It‘s located along the river bank on the Pest side of the city. You can book a tour inside the building (though I found it was enough to just gape at it from the outside). For information…

Day Trip to Margaret Island in Budapest (Beginner’s Guide)

    September 3, 2023 /

Margaret island is a beautiful little oasis on the Danube river. It is a wonderful way to spend a day when you are traveling in Budapest. And the best part – most of the attractions are completely free! You can find maps of the island and its sights all over – or just follow the arrows and paths. Getting There The island is connected to both sides of Budapest with bridges. It is very easy to get onto the island thanks to public transport. You can take tram 4 or 6 to the stop Margit híd, budai hídfő, from where you can walk across the bridge onto the island within…

About Me

Hi, I'm Christine!

I live in Austria, but I was born and raised in Namibia. I studied in South Africa for 5 years, after which I made the decision to move to Europe - in the middle of the pandemic - 2021. Since then, I have explored 16 different countries and fallen in love with travel. I am now avidly traveling while working a 9-to-5 job, with my bucket list growing longer every day.
